About a week ago, after a big rain, the sun came out and we all went out side to see if there was a rainbow. Sure enough, there it was across the street, and not only was there one rainbow arching across the sky, but a second one was reflected above it!

I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
Ezekiel 1:28
Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD.

Recent Happenings
When starting a new Church you sometimes forget even the needful things. After our first service when we realized that we didn't have a stand to for the men to put their materials on, Joshua started thinking up a layout plan for building a pulpit. It took a couple weeks to make but when it was finally completed it was a masterpiece!

Nothing to worry about right? Just a VERY flat tire in need of some air? Pretty easy to fix too if it hadn't have been on a Sunday morning at 8:30 when we were supposed to be on the road heading to Church an hour and a half away! Praise God it was a slow leak and we made it up to Lapeer without any mishap. After service we were able to change it with the nine year old spare which carried us home and a couple days ago we got all the tires changed. Thank the LORD for His mercies in even the small (or big!) things of life!
Garage Sale!
Saturday ended up being a glorious day for a garage sale! 9:00am came pretty quickly and even before we had gotten everything set in it's place, people were stopping by to see what we had to offer. Our Refreshment stand went to work right away too as our homemade Banana and Zucchini breads, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and frozen goods tempted many a customer to purchase an early morning snack!
Christianna was one of our main sale managers for our Refreshment table. We're not sure if it was just the delicious goodies that we had to sell or the modest and pretty outfit that she wore that attracted costumers, but many people swarmed to our little stand to purchase something tasty from "the Amish girl"!

The Church's One Foundation
The church's one foundation
is Jesus Christ her Lord;
she is His new creation
by water and the Word.
From heaven He came and sought her
to be His holy bride;
with His own blood He bought her,
and for her life He died.
Elect from every nation,
yet one o'er all the earth;
her charter of salvation,
one Lord, one faith, one birth;
one holy name she blesses,
partakes one holy food,
and to one hope she presses,
with every grace endued.
Though with a scornful wonder
we see her sore oppressed,
by schisms rent asunder,
by heresies distressed,
yet saints their watch are keeping;

My Mother
Who fed me from her gentle breast
And hushed me in her arms to rest,
And on my cheek sweet kisses prest?
My mother.
When sleep forsook my open eye,
Who was it sung sweet lullaby
And rocked me that I should not cry?

Who sat and watched my infant head
When sleeping in my cradle bed,

When pain and sickness made me cry,
Who gazed upon my heavy eye

Happy Mothers Day!
One of the desserts served after our Sunday meal was a specially made and unbelievably delicious flour-less chocolate cake made by Miss Theresa Eddy!
After our Sunday worship service and fellowship, we headed over to Port Huron to visit our Great Aunt Jackie and meet for the first time her daughter Peggy. Though the time was short, we greatly enjoyed talking with them and hearing all about California, where Peggy has lived and the stories of how God has guided and protected her and her husband when faced with the dangers of living in the mountains and surounded with wildlife.

Evening on the Lake
Last Friday evening, while the Worden Children were staying with us, we all headed over to Lake Erie so the boys could try out their new fishing rods and to enjoy God's glorious creation!
