The Fourth - Part Two

The evening of the fourth brought another of our annual Independence day celebrations. With wonderful food fellowship singing and plenty of games and fun.

Before Supper all the little children flocked to the garden to pick some of our late strawberries. Mmmmm!

Meanwhile some of the guys got together an impromptu game of volleyball.


After we had finish partaking of a sumptuous repast, we started our games with some fun rounds of Water-balloon Volleyball. The grown ups played around the volleyball net, while Faith led the little ones with pillow cases instead of sheets, across the badminton net.

While the children were finishing up their game of water balloon we jumped into a quick round of Parachute, soon joined by the little ones for a romping good time of popcorn and all sorts of fun parachute games.

Ready... Set... Go!!!

Then came my favorite of all the events. Three Legged race!!!

Some people didn't quite start off on the right foot, and as shown in the previous photo, some landed on the wrong one;) But no one was injured and everyone that participated had plenty of laughter and fun.

As the evening wore on we took a break for patriotic dessert before finishing up with one last game: a nature scavenger hunt in our back property.

Our delightful day was wound up with singing and a round of fireworks done by Josiah! Fellowship with the believers is indeed sweet, and we enjoyed lots of it on the fourth.

The Fourth - Part One

Our fourth started as usual at the historic courthouse for the reading of the Declaration.

Mr. Ervin of the Heritage Research Institute put together the event and there were a good number of people dressed up in period costumes.

A "courier" arrived with the declaration.

Mr. Ervin read the Declaration of Independence.

The event, though not as well attended as in previous years, was a wonderful time of listening to singing and speaking on our Nation, the men who built it, and the God they honored!

When we had finished in town, we headed back to our house to prepare for the next event of the day.... The much acclaimed Hadley Parade!!!

Of course we all had to put on our very best clothes, including Sadie Rose and her sister Daisy, whom we were babysitting. Are not they the cutest things!!!? We had so many people stop us and ask if they were twins:)

We reached Hadley to once again find it full and overflowing. I have never seen such an explosion of population like there is in Hadley every Fourth of July!

After staking out seats under a big shady tree, we headed down to the field to peruse all the old cars on display.

We wandered around the parade ground until the parade was about to start then hurried back to our seats.

Daisy sat with Faith and waited patiently for the parade to wind itself past us.

Next drove through a beautiful display of colors, in the shape of classic cars.

There were many very creative entries that I did not photograph, but this "boat car" was extremely unique and creative. I wouldn't mind having one of those:)

Our friend and neighbor Daniel was invited to ride in one of the cars in the parade.

Now I am going to end this lengthy post with a very singular photo. While both Faith and I expected and saw many other dogs and puppies being walked around Hadley in and around the parade, this one surprised us a little. Look closely, yep, it's a cat! :)

Happy Birthday Dear Faith!
You are such a blessing, asset and huge part of our family. God has blessed you with so many gifts and talents and it is an inspiration to see you use them for Him. Your ability to see beauty and to envision huge plans and projects, as well as your amazing speed at accomplishing things you put your mind to are incredible. Sewing, Gardening, Canning, Painting, and Cooking are just a few of the outer signs of your inside character.

May this year be a blessing from God to you, as the past years have been and as you are to us!!

Mr. and Mrs. Josh Sauve!

As I am sure you have noticed, I am quite a bit behind on blog posts. So you will have to excuse the extraordinarily large amount of pictures, and the lack of words.
As most of you know last Saturday was a big event in the Sauve household - Our second wedding!!! Joshua Paul Sauve was united with Theresa Eddy on the afternoon of June 25th. Following are some photographs from the memorable occasion.

Grace and her Photographer partner Dani documented the event. They took pictures of the handsome grooms men (and the bridesmaids separately) before the ceremony.

Meanwhile the girls got ready in the nursery.

Along with being the photographer, Grace also sang while Josh and Theresa signed the marriage covenant.
