Handel's Messiah 2007

This past weekend marked the 7th annual presentation of George Frederic Handel's Messiah! Yes, we have only been a part of it the last 3 years but the blessing and enjoyment we have received from it would be worth participating in over and over again! The weather was threatening for a big snow and ice storm late Saturday but I don't think it really discouraged the turnout as Sunday had about the same audience size.

Shawn Eddy (bass) and Joshua (tenor).
Josh did a great job both days in singing his solo.

Before both Messiah performances there was some special music and this young lady played some beautiful harp arrangements!
Our friends the Wagners, also played some special music as well as playing along with the choir.

This year we added another piece - His Yoke is Easy and His Burthen is Light.

It is a beautiful piece of music and while we were learning it we found out that is was anything but "easy" to master! However, as we neared the performance dates, and after many practices, I think it finally clicked and we could truly sing "His Yoke is Easy"! Praise God!

Also this year we had a new conductor. Not that the one in the past didn't do a good job, but instead this year we were taken even farther in training and really getting to know the songs.

We thank the Lord for His gift of music and for His clear Hand in guiding master Handel in writing this Oratorio.
“ Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”Rev. 5:13 Amen and Amen!
