Second Annual Ladies Luncheon

Last year we were privileged to host a ladies luncheon for all the wonderful ladies we have had the distinct pleasure of working with at the Lapeer Pregnancy Resource Center.  We had so much fun, that we decided to make it an annual event and do it again!

Since it was right in the middle of Strawberry season, there was no question what one of the desserts would be.  Mini Strawberry Glace pies!  Oh, my word! Faith made them, and they were so beyond wonderful, that we told her she should start a French pastry shop and sell them!

The rest of the menu included:  Personal quiche's (with choices of ham, bacon or spinach) carrot salad, fresh spring veggie tray, jello with strawberries, cheesecake swirl brownies, and a choice of Strawberry lemonade or fresh peppermint iced tea for beverages.

The ladies arrived and we all sat down in the cool basement (it was pretty muggy outdoors) to enjoy our luncheon.

We had been collecting little vases from various thrift stores, and so each lady had one at her plate with a little summer bouquet.   Some roses, a bunch of sweet peas, the last bit of columbines, or a bunch of pansies and violas, made sweet little bunches.

Laughter, reminiscence, and good conversation, filled the air.
Once the food had been all partaken of, we headed outside to show the ladies all our animals and gardens.

The baby rabbits must have been a favorite of everyone!!

We went out back and saw our growing turkeys and chickens...

Then some hopped on our faithful golf cart to see the big garden.

It was a delightful time.  We enjoy the fellowship of these sisters in the Lord so very much, and I hope there will be many more years of working together in the future!!
