The Full Fourth

Our Celebrations began on the 3rd to be exact with the coming of our Aunt Carmen and Uncle Tim, and their adopted family.   We had made plans to have them over the day before and spend the night in tents in our backyard.  Providentially a friend of Mr. Reiche's had blessed us with a large tent from Gander Mountain a short time ago, so we were all set!
Little Abby and her Tita.  So much to see!!

Heading out to feed the rabbits.

Josiah and Benji went fishing.  The little bluegill who Josiah had been faithfully "chumming" for this event, were extremely cooperative, and hit the lines with ferocity.  I believe the final catch was over a dozen fishies!

Levi preferred to watch the fishing, and to move as fast as possible when ever the camera turned his way :)  Later on he proved to be quite the cook, helping Faith with the Popcorn.

Tent City was to be our abode for the night, but before we turned in, we all gathered around the campfire for delicious popcorn, plenty of sparklers and a fireworks display by Josiah.

Fun with 3D colored glasses.

Despite some doubts everyone stayed in the tents all night long, and had a passable sleep, except of course for the rooster crowing before 5 in the morning. :)

The morning of the Fourth dawned, and we breakfasted on Blueberry pancakes, with strawberry sauce or Syrup.

The men discussing the day among other things.

Faith, our Firecracker!!

Once breakfast was finished, the gang (minus Mother, Charity, and yours truly) headed off to the court house for the reading of the declaration along with a patriotic concert.  I heard it was as good as ever.

The next event was the Hadley parade, and another group of us (this time including myself) headed down to watch.

Tractors and cars made up most of the parade, this year with plenty of Firetrucks as well.

Once the parade was over we headed home for family dinner.
We were so happy to have Aunt Myrt and Uncle Warren join us for the occasion, and had a wonderful time of fellowship, and good food, celebrating Faith's birthday.

But I do believe I will leave the particulars for another post....
