Watermelon, Sunflowers, and other Sundry Objects

(aka: Miscellaneous photographs from previous weeks that were not specific enough to put in a certain post, and therefore were assembled in a group to create a post of their own.  Enjoy!)

Our first beautiful Moon and Star Watermelon.  It was enormous!!
And delicious!

Flowers have an expression of countenance as much as men or animals. Some seem to smile; some have a sad expression; some are pensive and diffident;
others again are plain, honest and upright, like the broad-faced sunflower and the hollyhock.
~Henry Ward Beecher

A favorite shot of mine:  Blue Vervain in the foreground, duckies in the back;)

 It pleases me to take amateur photographs of my garden, and it pleases my garden to make my photographs look professional.  ~Robert Brault

One afternoon I sauntered out to feed my ducks and in the process startled a White Egret which gracefully soared from the pond, and landed, much to my surprise, in the top of our neighbors cottonwood tree!

 Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.  ~Stanley Horowitz
