Birthday outing by the River

Tuesday was Grandpa's birthday, Wednesday was Grandma's. We went over on Tuesday to celebrate with Aunt Carmen and Uncle Tim by the river. The weather was gorgeous and we all had a blessed afternoon.
Mom decorated the cake. Grandpa loves to watch the freighters go by on the river and while we were there we got to see one go by.

I love the color of the water!

This big sail boat went by and Josiah took some pictures of it.

The party group! (minus me) styling the lovely hats that Aunt Carmen brought for us all!

This was Grandma's gift from us Sauve ladies. Faith made the place mats, Christianna and I finished the napkins and mom made the holders. We gave Grandpa a couple button shirts.

Delicious lunch! Grinders from Mancinos!

Happy birthday!

Family in Christ

Last Friday we had some of our dear family in Christ over for dinner.
Christianna and her little helper with their stuffed eggs.
We ate out under our willow tree. Faith and Yesenia put together the floral decorations!
This is Daily the bulldog. She and Baby hit it off right away...literally! =)

"Look Josiah, I have a sore on my finger like you!" Josiah cut his finger pretty bad the other day while working on his tree fort and Cade thought that ketchup on his finger was a pretty good representation and might bring in some sympathy! =)

Better than any burger shack!

Conversing after dinner.
Some of the sweetest kids around!

Josiah giving wagon rides around the yard.

We finished the evening up with some delicious blueberry cobbler and ice cream, which was enjoyed by all and a time of seeking God's face through the reading of His word and prayer.

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Blueberries!!

This week we went blueberry picking!

Tuesday we went up to a patch in Caro and picked 24 lbs of berries for Charity!

It had just rained so the pathways were very wet but it was nice because all the berries were washed clean!

Yesterday we went with friends to pick blueberries for the rest of the family. Unfortunately the berries were not quite all ready so we only came home with 4 quarts, but we still enjoyed the time spent with friends and the beauty of God's creation!

The blueberries collected yesterday were just enough to make a huge pan of blueberry cobbler to have with friends last night and this morning we enjoyed some of the most delicious blueberry pancakes!

Friday's Gathering

Last Friday we held a get together with some friends amounting to about 40 people present among only 4 families! We all had a blast, sharing a meal, playing games and ending with singing praises to our Lord as the sun set.

Our newly finished deck was the perfect place and size to hold all of us!

There still was plenty of room to put up more tables and walk around!

All the little people loved to explore our huge play scape!

Sweet little sisters!

The first activity we did was with the parachute. That thing sure has been everywhere! We have used it for years in gym classes and field days!

Game spectators

Sweet little friends!

Next up was our favorite game, water balloon volleyball! Family teams...I guess we had an advantage with all older children but we still missed a balloon and all the other families did a great job playing for their first time!

What a splash! Thanks for taking these last two pictures Emily! Great shot!

The Roehrer family.

Then we did boys against girls.

and mothers against fathers.

Next up were the field games! Wheel barrel, sack, three leg races!

Ready, set, Go!

Sack racing!

Team work!

Visionary!

Thankfully no one was injured throughout all the races! Three legged race can be pretty dangerous at times! I know from experience! =)

After the official races were done these three decided to try the 4 legged race! Surprisingly they did very well!

Then out came the water balloons!

I don't know if any of the children came out of the "battle" without getting at least a little wet!

After the last water balloon was tossed we all gathered in a circle up on the deck and tried to sing some hymns by memory as we did not have enough song books for everyone. Daniel Bryson played the accordion to accompany us.

What a blessing to fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ!

After the last song was sung and a closing prayer given, out broke the so called "traveling music" and our deck turned into an impromptu dance floor as away they polka-ed! It was a site to see, and not a straight face was to be seen in the whole place!

A hearty thank you to all who came and brought delicious food and we hope you all had as enjoyable a time as we did and thank the Lord for such a wonderful evening of friendship and fellowship with His saints!
