Baling Hay with the Wagners

This past Monday the three oldest males of the Sauve household traveled north to Silverwood, Michigan, and got their first taste of farm life baling hay with our good friends the Wagners. Arriving around 4:00 in the afternoon, John, Dad and I immediately headed out to the fields with Mr. Wagner and their oldest son David. It didn't take long before we were covered with dust and hay particles, and bailing like we were old pro's. There were a few accidents but no one acquired any worse injuries than scratches and small cuts on our hands and arms from catching flying 50 pound hay bales.

After filling up a wagon with bales two of us drove it back to the barn and loaded it via the elevator into the loft. This was definitely the most unpleasant task of the whole operation for the person who was stacking the bales up in the loft where it was about 10 degrees hotter then outside and the dust was so thick that it was difficult to breathe. However, even considering the discomfort, we somehow had a great time doing hard work.

After finishing up the field on Tuesday, we walked out to another field and literally had a blast shooting at clay pigeon targets, (a.k.a. skeets), with a couple of 12 gauge shotguns and two .22 rifles. Thanks Wagners for the great time and experience in farm life!

The Glory of God's Creation!

A huge butterfly flitted through the front yard the other day and landed on a tree branch. Faith went over to get a better look and came back
holding this Giant Swallowtail! We put him in a vase to get a closer look and this picture and then let him go.

A Majestic Cloud formation billows above the trees. What a glorious sight! 

About a week ago, after a big rain, the sun came out and we all went out side to see if there was a rainbow. Sure enough, there it was across the street, and not only was there one rainbow arching across the sky, but a second one was reflected above it!

I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.

Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. 

 

Recent Happenings

When starting a new Church you sometimes forget even the needful things. After our first service when we realized that we didn't have a stand to for the men to put their materials on, Joshua started thinking up a layout plan for building a pulpit. It took a couple weeks to make but when it was finally completed it was a masterpiece!

Nothing to worry about right? Just a VERY flat tire in need of some air? Pretty easy to fix too if it hadn't have been on a Sunday morning at 8:30 when we were supposed to be on the road heading to Church an hour and a half away! Praise God it was a slow leak and we made it up to Lapeer without any mishap. After service we were able to change it with the nine year old spare which carried us home and a couple days ago we got all the tires changed. Thank the LORD for His mercies in even the small (or big!) things of life!

The week before our Subdivision Garage Sale, we cleaned out the rather cluttered garage and gave it a much needed coat of paint.

Garage Sale!

Saturday ended up being a glorious day for a garage sale! 9:00am came pretty quickly and even before we had gotten everything set in it's place, people were stopping by to see what we had to offer. Our Refreshment stand went to work right away too as our homemade Banana and Zucchini breads, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and frozen goods tempted many a customer to purchase an early morning snack!

Christianna was one of our main sale managers for our Refreshment table. We're not sure if it was just the delicious goodies that we had to sell or the modest and pretty outfit that she wore that attracted costumers, but many people swarmed to our little stand to purchase something tasty from "the Amish girl"!

The Church's One Foundation

The church's one foundation
is Jesus Christ her Lord;
she is His new creation
by water and the Word.
From heaven He came and sought her
to be His holy bride;
with His own blood He bought her,

Elect from every nation,
